Watercolour Portrait of Mariinksy Ballet Dancer Xander Parish

Watercolour Portrait of Xander Parish, This is from when I attended dress rehearsals for Romeo and Juliet at The Royal Opera House. I wanted to paint a traditional portrait with a twist. For Xander's cloak I used vintage pages of William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet to symbolise how he superbly encapsulated the role. Xander Parish just received a Britain's National Dance Award for"Outstanding Male Performance". Congratulation Xander smile emoticon

Pure Gold, a painting of Johan Kobborg,

Painting of Johan Kobborg titled

Pure Gold

. Watercolour with 23 carat gold applied. Part of my Kings of Dance series. The gold was added because of Johan's love for all things gold! Gold has a universal and symbolic nature and I loved having the excuse to use it in this picture.

Wedding Portrait Commission in Watercolour

Just received this picture of a wedding portrait commission I just completed in watercolour for a couple's First Wedding Anniversary. Traditional gift for a First Wedding Anniversary is paper so a painting on watercolour paper is the perfect gift!
It was lovely to see the painting framed as it was a pleasure to paint.

My wife loves the water colour!!! I can't thank you enough ... the result was fantastic!  James

Portrait Commission in Watercolour

One of my more experimental portraits commissions using mixed media. I focused on the fase and hair and the rest of the portrait has a slightly unfinished feel to focus on the face. What I liked about this composition is her reflection in the window you can just see to the left. I painted it faintly so as not to be a distraction but a point of interest.

Bill Wyman and The Rhythm Kings in Swansea Grand Theatre

Invited backstage with Bill Wyman, Terry Taylor and Beverley Skeete after their fantastic performance in Swansea. Fantastic concert , their first show of a 39 date tour!! WOW! A footstomping mix of R&B, soul, rock jazz, country and blues. Special guest Mary Wilson of the Supremes was superb as was their regular singer Beverley Skeete. All the musicians put in virtuoso performances for one of the best nights I have enjoyed! It was great to be invited backstage to say hello, especially as both Bill and Terry have paintings of mine in their collection. Very charming (and very cool!) and was a lovely ending to a great night! I would definately recommend you go. for more tour dates see www.billwyman.com Brought the house down with a standing ovation after a 3 hr concert!!!!
