About Zoe

Zoe James-Williams is a successful professional artist and has exhibited across Wales, England and the Channel Islands with work now in private collections worldwide.

Zoe has garnered a strong reputation for figurative paintings and portraiture, including a series capturing ballet dancers on stage and in rehearsal. This has led to her being appointed Artist in Residence at Swansea Grand Theatre. Zoe has also had the privilage of working with principle ballet dancers from The Royal Ballet in The Royal Opera House, London, The Mariinsky, The Bolshoi and The English National Ballet amongst many others.

Her landscape paintings are inspired by the stunning Gower coastline near Swanea, Wales which have also proved to be popular with discerning clients locally and nationally.

Art Collections
Zoe's paintings are now in the art collections of The Welsh National Opera, Swansea Grand Theatre, Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones/Rhythm Kings), Johan Kobborg and Alina Cojocaru, Principal dancers of The Royal Ballet, Andrei Merkuriev, Bolshoi Ballet, Kevin Johns MBE, Chas Hodges (Chas and Dave) amongst many others.


Selected Exhibitions

Zoe had a joint exhibition in The Pure Art Gallery in Milford Haven July 27th-Aug 17th 2013.

She has work on permanent display at Swansea Grand Theatre in Footlights Bar and Restaurant and at the Craftsman Gallery, Swansea. She also exhibits in The Albany Gallery, Cardiff and the Ceri Richards Gallery, Swansea.

Zoe has regulary exhibited at The Belgravia Gallery, 45. Albermarle Street, London W1 since 2005.
She has exhibited at Quade Art Gallery, Swansea, St Davids Hall, Cardiff, The Gallery on Broadway in Cardiff, The Tallentyre Gallery Northumberland and The Suasmarez Gallery in Guernsey among others. Zoe has also shown work with the Watercolour Society of Wales.


Drawing and Watercolour Classes
Zoe teaches drawing and watercolour in Ostreme, Mumbles on Wednesdays 10-12.30 and in Swansea Grand Theatre on Wednesdays 2-4.15pm. Please contact her for further details and availability. Places are limited.
Education and Associations
After attending Malvern Girls College Zoe obtained a Visual Arts BA Hons from Swansea Art College and went on to study at the Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, Italy. Zoe has taught art classes and workshops to adults covering a wide range of subjects and techniques
